Choosing the Right Folding Tables


Folding tables are a key asset to many schools, churches, hotels, and other businesses. Finding the right cost to quality ratio is essential to maximizing this investment. The benefit of these tables is that they can be easily transported and stored with a minimal space requirement. While all folding tables share this feature, there are several other considerations to be made before making a purchase.

Weight Load

The primary use of the tables must be the number one consideration in determining the table sturdiness required to ensure that the tables will stand up to the intended use. For example, a caterer may only be using the folding tables for serving food, while a church may use theirs for a rummage sale that may involve heavy objects being placed on the tables.

Folding Table Top Material

The choice of material will depend greatly on the intended use of the tables. Legs and Mechanisms

The most elegant looking folding table legs may not be the sturdiest. Look for tables with substantial legs that are made from high quality materials. Keep in mind that the legs of the table need not only support the table top, but any number of items that may be placed on top of the table when in use. The hardware, including nuts, bolts and screws, should also be adequate to hold the pieces together without any wobble or shifting. All of the folding mechanisms should operate smoothly and not appear to experience any duress when put under weight or while extending or collapsing the legs.

Design/Size/Shape

For domestic purposes and some schools and churches, round or small rectangular folding tables are often a good choice. Still, a thorough consideration of the space and events or other purposes they will be used for will ultimately help make the final decision. For banquet halls, hotels, and exhibitions, round and long rectangular tables are usually the best choice since they provide a large amount of seating.

Price

No matter which folding table will work best for the specific need, price will also be a factor. It is best to list the needed features in order of importance and find the affordable option that meets the most important needs first. Remember, no matter how expensive it might seem, it will still cost less than having to replace a cheap one that didn't hold up.
